Rules of the Game
Deliverance LARP Code of Conduct
1. Safety and Combat
-
Check Your Hits: Use "lightest touch" or regulated boffer/latex combat. Pull your swings to avoid injury, and never target the head, neck, or groin.
-
Weapon Inspection: All weapons and props must go through wepons check and be approved by event marshals before entering play. Real-world weapons are strictly prohibited.
-
Health & Medical: Stay hydrated, eat regular meals, and immediately inform staff of any health issues or injuries.
-
All combat is opptional, if you don’t feel comfortable, there will be no bullying or pressure to join. If you would like to brush up on your combat skills or learn a new weapon, let the staff know and we will either give you pointers ourselves or pair you up with a veteran player who will discreetly show you the ropes so you have the utmost confidence on the field.
-
Women are allowed to join any faction, even if it is not historically accurate for them to be fighting in that army or group. Women are held to the same standards as the Men, kit wise. Women are permitted to wear dresses and skirts as apart of their soft kits during down time, but we ask that when we go into combate they wear the same thing as the Men. (No “Woman’s armor” or scantily dressed fantasy armor.) Please keep to being as historically accurate with your clothes as possible.
-
No one will be discriminating against anyone due to race, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, neurodivergentcy or political view. We have a diverse group of people that attend our LARP. All are welcome, all deserve kindness, encouragement and community.
2. Consent and Boundaries
-
The "Touch Rule": You must get explicit, verbal consent from another player before initiating physical contact, whether that is for healing, grappling, or romantic roleplay.
-
Safe Words: Always respect established game "stop" words or out-of-character (OOC) signals. If a player asks you to stop, you must drop character and cease immediately. Placing a fist on top of your head means that you are no longert in character and need to speak plainly out of game to the real person and are not talking to the person’s role play character but the real person. You can say the words “out of game” and proceed to discuss out-of-games topics or issues. All issues need to be reported to the owners Amanda (Torvi) and Jacob (Eyolf) Medlin and will be dealt with swiftly & discreetly.
-
Harassment-Free: Bullying, racism, sexism, or any discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated. In-character drama should remain separate from out-of- Game- character friendships. “My LARP character is a jerk,” “I was drunk,” and “I didn’t do it, my LARP character did it” are NOT excuses for any inappropriate behavior or bullying.
-
When you bought a ticket, you signed a waiver stating that if there is alcohol at this event, you will only partake if you are 21 years of age or older, drink responsibly, that you are responsible for any emotional and physical damages you cause while being under the influence. You can/will be cut off by staff and/or asked to leave the venue.
3. Fair Play and Etiquette
-
No "God-moding": Play within the spirit of the rules. Acknowledge landed blows, respect damage mechanics, and do not ignore rules to gain an unfair narrative advantage.
-
Immersive Play: Share the spotlight. Avoid "plot dumping" your character's life story onto players who aren't interested or monopolizing the game's narrative.
-
Respect the Venue: Pick up your trash, respect site-specific rules, and leave the event space exactly as you found it.
4. Community and "Bleed"
-
Bleed Management: Acknowledge "bleed," which is when your character's in-game emotions or relationships carry over into real life. Process your emotions constructively and do not hold real-world grudges over in-game character deaths or conflicts.

The rules below are for sparing and battleing. These are mock battles, we are hitting eachother with foam weapons and sheilds. Please don't take it too seriously. If we see head shots, hitting too hard, not calling your hits, real anger and agression, or unsportsman like conduct you will be warned once and then asked to sit out. In the heat of the moment accidents happen, this is a contact sport, give eachother grace, check in on eachother. The honorable thing to do is just die, say "good game" and take a walk back to your respond point, it's not a big deal. Pretending to be invinsable ruins the fun for other players. This is NOT a real battle, we all go back to being brothers after its over. Please be kind a curtious and above all else, have fun.!
